The Henrico Professional Growth and Evaluation Process (PGEP) specifies that every professional employee will be evaluated every year. The employee will be evaluated on job performance based on the Professional Qualities and Responsibilities (PQR) specific to his/her job title.
Employees on probationary contracts will receive a mid-year evaluation on or before December 15th and an end of year evaluation on or before March 1st. Non-probationary employees will receive a mid-year evaluation on or before January 30th and an end of year evaluation on or before June 30th.
The mid and end of year evaluations use the Henrico County School’s PQR evaluation form. If the employee is meeting or exceeding job expectations as outlined in the PQR, no conference with the supervisor is required. The form may be given to the employee for a signature. If there is evidence that the employee is not meeting job expectations based on the PQR, a face-to-face conference is required and the PQR evaluation form signed by both parties.
If there is evidence that an employee is not meeting his/her job responsibilities, opportunities for professional growth may be offered. Employees shall take advantage of professional growth offered by the supervisor.
