| Beginning in January 2008, a representative committee of teachers and leaders began examining the structure for teacher evaluation in Henrico County Public Schools. The process continued with ongoing committee meetings and an open blog for all teachers and staff regarding the suggested changes to the process. The final product, approved by the Leadership Team and Superintendent, was the Professional Growth and Evaluation Process (PGEP) for teachers, which was piloted in the 2008-2009 year. A full description of the process is contained in the videos found HERE An examination of the process for HCPS leaders, Coordinators for Assessment and Remediation (CARs), Instructional Technology Resource Teachers (ITRTs), Library Information Specialists (LIS), and School Counselors then began in May 2009. Recommendations for the Professional Qualities and Responsibilities and for the evaluation process were made, and blogs were opened to solicit feedback from these groups. During the summer of 2009, the Leadership Team and Superintendent approved the Professional Growth and Evaluation Process (PGEP) for these employees. The philosophy of the PGEP, PQRs, forms, and directions may be found by clicking on the appropriate button below. |
