USING THE ONLINE PARENT ASSESSMENT
To help parents understand the iBook initiative, every parent of a student new to HCPS Middle Schools is required to complete parent technology orientation. Parents of incoming sixth graders must complete face-to-face orientation at their student's middle school. (Parents who have completed training for an older sibling are not required to repeat training but are encouraged to attend.)
Contact your school about 6th grade parent iBook orientation. Middle Schools have a compiled schedule of all training sessions held in HCPS middle schools so if you were unable to attend a session at your school, you may find a session at another school that is more convenient.
Transfer parents may complete orientation online using the form below. Online training is updated each fall and available to parents of students new to HCPS schools after October 1st of each school year or after all Middle School student iBooks have been distributed. Face-to-face sessions in HCPS middle schools are held until that date.
Download the assessment form by clicking below. Print the assessment and answer the questions on the assessment while viewing the videos or going to portions of the website (marked just above the questions.) The completed form can be submitted as evidence of completing training to your child's school. Contact your school for forms and information on submitting the form.
