| Problem/Project Based Learning |
PBL is a method of instruction that emphasizes student centered learning activities that are integrated with real world issues. The lesson design of PBL follows a “backward design” model where teachers identify a problem to be solved and/or product to be completed by students that will organize the teaching and learning process. This often helps students connect a purpose to the learning- particularly if the problem to be solved or the product to be completed is relevant to a real-world situation. These products offer students an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of content using nontraditional methods, engaging and motivating students to invest in their own learning.
