Destination VGLA is a website that will assist teachers in designing artifacts (work samples, photographs, anecdotal records, videotapes, audiotapes, charts and graphs) that can be used for the collection of evidence portfolios.

 

VGLA Requirements

Henrico County Required VGLA Forms (all forms listed below should be included in each student’s VGLA binder):
This following list of required forms must be in each VGLA notebook. They can be found in SchoolSpace or Destination VGLA.

  • Affidavit of Student Performance
  • Participation Criteria Form (w/ ALL signatures) for Exceptional Ed students OR LEP Participation Plan for LEP students
  • Media Release Form (if photographs, video or audio are used)
  • Appropriate Grade level and content area Tracking Form (found in optional forms) and initialed each marking period by administrator or designee

VGLA Training Dates
Dates and locations for the 2010-2011 Fall VGLA trainings:

October 4, 2011 –
Sandston Elementary School 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Holman Middle School – 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM

October 5, 2011 –
Tuckahoe Elementary School – 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Wilder Middle School – 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Staff members who should attend one of these trainings include:

  • New Exceptional Education or ESL teachers or Lead Teachers
  • New classroom teachers who will be assisting with the compilation of VGLA evidence
  • 504 case managers who have not already received training
  • New administrators who have not already received training
  • Any staff member wishing to have refresher training for VGLA
  • Any high school staff completing VGLA in the form of Remediation Recovery
